Ian Mallon, Managing Director at Neon Freight.
Ian Mallon started his career in the mid 90’s and has worked for several freight forwarding companies, before launching Neon Freight in 2012. An award-winning, multi-disciplined company offering global logistics with a total emphasis on exceptional customer service and relationships. A proud member of the WOF Alliance since 2023.
- What unique strengths and attributes do you believe set Neon Freight apart as an international logistics company?
Our total commitment to the customer experience and relationship. We put ourselves in their shoes and learn all about their products. We know way more about fashion textiles than we should. In the end, we are all working to the same end.
- How would you leverage the company’s experience and expertise to stay competitive and innovative in the industry?
We do not rest on our laurels and always looking for any available and competitive option. Our successful relationships with our amazing suppliers are equally as important as with our clients. To be honest, I’m quite skeptical about new technology in the industry. I sometimes see it as an attempt to „shortcut “ something. Which I believe is very hard indeed to do.
- In terms of multimodal collaboration, where does your company see areas of improvement or potential challenges that need to be addressed?
I need more firepower in airfreight, we are looking to develop trailer freight operations to the UK from Portugal and Italy. This may mean working closer with local warehouses too.
- How does the company’s vision align with industry trends and evolving customer needs, and what strategies are in place to realize this vision?
Our vision is repeatedly discussed and challenged. It’s a simple statement, but one that we all work towards here. Our weekly meetings, great communications, and staff development here will enable us to achieve this. We recently attained ISO9001 to assist us on this journey too!
Vision
The number one choice of International freight forwarder, encompassing “team-driven” sustainable growth, through the focus on quality, strategic partnerships, systems, and culture.
- What was the main reason for you to join WOF Alliance and what are your expectations of the overall WOF platform?
We are always on the lookout for new and exciting developments in the world of freight. Not just doing the same old thing. It’s an interesting concept that I think could bear fruit!
